This week is British Science Week – is your school taking part?

Promoted by the British Science Association, the week celebrates all sciences and their importance in our everyday lives. It provides an opportunity for people of all ages across the UK to take part in science, engineering and technology events and activities.

The British Science Association released survey results ahead of this year’s British Science Week (6-15 March 2020‎), showing that while documentaries such as Blue Planet are putting environmental issues at the front of people’s minds, many of us are still confused about how we can make a positive impact, with almost 2 in 5 of the survey respondents unsure where to start when it comes to living more sustainably.

Poster competition

There is a poster competition open, with the theme of ‘Our diverse planet’. This year, the poster competition is being supported by Guinness World Records.

Why not challenge your students to design a poster based on a world record that celebrates ‘Our diverse planet’? The closing date for entries is April 3, so make sure you enter in good time!

For details on the competition, you can visit the website here.

There are also games and project ideas you can run during the week, as part of the 2020 activity packs: https://www.britishscienceweek.org/plan-your-activities/activity-packs .
