End of School year!

Despite this being such an unusual time for all of us, we would like to offer our congratulations for making it through to the end of the school year! And for those teachers that aren’t breaking up until Wednesday, keep going – you’re almost there!

It has certainly been a challenging time for teachers and pupils alike. You should be proud of the work you accomplished with your students ahead of the end of the school year.

Before you head off for the summer break, you may find it helpful to take a few moments to…

  1. Create a reading list for the summer break. The list might include books that your students are reading, professional books as well as some books just for you –something that you really take pleasure in. The list might also include online articles and blogs that you want to read.
  2. Reflect on what went really well this year. Consider five things that really were outstanding this academic year. Have you achieved a personal goal, or maybe a specific lesson or a student breakthrough? Whether big or small, it’s worth including your successes on the list.
  3. Think about what you might want to focus on improving next year. The end of the academic year is a great time to consider new strategies that could be implemented in the coming year. Perhaps there was a lesson that you really wanted to teach, but didn’t get a chance to?

The team at Elementa wish you all a fantastic summer and we look forward to seeing you in September. In the meantime, if there is anything we can help with, please get in touch on 0117 325 9523 or at hello@elementa.org.uk .
