This job role will involve 1:1 working with SEMH students that are at a KS4 Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) setting and permanently excluded from school. You will be responsible for supporting their academic work in the mornings and then leading learning activities / forest school activities in the afternoons.
This job role will run Monday to Friday, 830am – 330pm. You will be responsible for collecting the student from their home and bringing them to school. You will also be responsible for ensuring they are able to get to the afternoon activities and then dropping them back at home at the end of the day. It is therefore essential that you have your own car, business insurance and are willing to carry students in your car. The cost of the business insurance and mileage will of course be covered. Mileage is paid at 60p per mile (upon claims submission.)
For applicants that are able to engage students in this type of setting the role is incredibly rewarding. The success & continuation of the role will depend on your engagement with the specifc student. You will have a personable nature, be easily able to engage students that have struggled in academic settings and have a non-confrontational approach.
Applicants will ideally have a clean driving licence and also clear DBS Enhanced Disclosure due to the nature of the role.
Elementa is the recruiting partner therefore applicants being considered for the role after pre-screening will be required to complete the registration process for Elementa. This includes full vetting & background checks and application for an Enhanced DBS Disclosure unless you have a current DBS on the update service.
If you have the relevant skills and experience necessary for this role then please apply with your full up to date CV. All applicants will be promptly responded to.
