It's almost World Book Day!

It’s not long until this year’s World Book Day on 4 March. Each year the Day celebrates books, authors, stories and most importantly, reading. In the UK and Ireland, National Book Tokens are sent out so that children can find a book of their very own – something to unlock the power of their minds in a way that the increasing use of digital screens may not provide.

Is your School Fundraising for World Book Day?

Across the country, there are many schools that fundraise as part of the World Book Day celebrations. Last year, thanks to the efforts of these schools, Book Aid were able to send 47,335 books to the people who need them most.

Access to books is vital for children’s futures. As Independent Usborne Book sellers, Elementa uses all funds raised to further support Schools. Also, we donate books to our Partner Schools. This link takes you to our online book shop.

As well as millions of £1 National Book Tokens being given to children, there are a range of £1 books available to buy in thousands of bookshops and supermarkets. Titles include There’s a Wolf in Your Book, The River Whale and Planet Omar: Operation Kind.
