The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning is today, Friday 25th September. This is Macmillan’s biggest fundraising event for people facing cancer. Macmillan encourages people all over the UK to host their own Coffee Mornings, with the donations from the day being made to Macmillan. Last year Macmillan raised almost £27.5 million and are hoping to make this another successful year. Although the official date for the Coffee Morning is Friday 25 September, naturally you can hold yours whenever you like to suit you.
How to take part
Taking part is as easy as one, two, tea.
1. Sign up to host an event and receive your Coffee Morning fundraising kit.
2. Plan your event, invite your guests and get ready for your coffee morning!
3. Have fun and enjoy catching up with friends, family, and workmates over a cuppa and some cake while raising money for Macmillan.
Every penny raised helps Macmillan to be right there for people living with cancer. The money enables the charity to help people with cancer live life as fully as they can.
The first Macmillan Coffee Morning was back in 1990. It had a simple idea: guests would meet over coffee and donate the cost of their drink to Macmillan in the process. As it went so well, Macmillan did it again the following year – only this time nationally. Since that time, Coffee Morning has raised over £200 million for Macmillan.
