Today’s Guardian article ( https://www.theguardian.com/education/2019/aug/28/tories-accused-of-trumpeting-discipline-instead-of-investing-in-schools ) reports on Tory education proposals, citing leaked documents setting out government plans emphasising discipline and excluding pupils.
The announcements include billions of pounds in new funding together with additional free schools.

Team Teach
Team Teach is one such training – supporting positive behaviour strategies, understanding behaviour and actively support the young person to make better choices.
School and college staff are vitally important as they are in a position to identify concerns early and provide help for children, to prevent concerns from escalating. We encourage teachers and teaching assistants working through Elementa to ensure they provide a safe environment where children can learn as well as protecting children from any form of harm.

Elementa deliver highly engaging courses of Team-Teach training at Schools. These can be Level 1 or 2 courses for teachers and support staff as well as members of senior leadership teams.
These courses cover personal safety as well as non-verbal and verbal de-escalation and positive handling techniques. These courses are proven to improve safety, reduce incidents and boost staff confidence.
Feedback from those attending the courses has been very enthusiastic. A few observations have been: “Sarah was very knowledgeable and effective with excellent strategies. This is to be rolled out to the whole staff” and “the pace was brilliant, any questions were answered.
